My husband, Ismael Manzano, just placed his second short story for publication! The first is due in July and this one should be coming out within the next two weeks. I will let you know when they are available for your viewing pleasure. I may be a bit biased, but he’s very talented.

Speaking of fanfiction, which we’ve been doing a lot of lately, remember when I said I didn’t believe fanfiction should be published for profit? Well, this Washington Post article discusses why the publishing industry may just disagree with me.

I’m always saying that magic can’t just be magic for it’s own sake – it has to follow an internal logic that makes the book make sense – it has to be a part of the world it is existing in. As such, I would like to show you to an excellent article on this discussion by fantasy writer Jamie Schultz.
As a writer, I find I do a lot of strange research for my books and even for my fanfic. For the link I posted above, I had to search “How long can someone survive being buried alive in a box?” This blog post by Mystery/Suspense writer Greg Levin wonders why his internet searches have never gotten him in trouble. I don’t know how the NSA isn’t looking for me either, Greg.
This is pretty much EXACTLY how I feel about writing sex scenes.

I just completed “Create Your Writing Platform” by Chuck Sambuchino and it provides essential tips for building your presence. This is definitely a book you need if you’re a writer.
